About Ziro
The part of the town which is the centre of economic activities and where the administrative offices are found is Hapoli, known by the Apatanis as "Hao-Polyang". Ziro is home to the Apatani people who have a different culture from other tribes in Arunachal Pradesh with traditional crafts and festivals. They practice wet rice cultivation and are careful in land management, which allowed sustainable agriculture for several centuries.
