Zayed International Airport Travel Guide — Things to Do, Food & Hotels
largest airport serving Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
About Zayed International Airport
Serving almost 16 million passengers in 2022, Zayed International Airport is the second busiest in the UAE. Like its busier neighbour,Dubai International Airport, and regional competitorHamad International AirportinQatar, it is an important traffic node between Europe, Asia and Africa. It is the home base ofEtihad Airways, the flag carrier of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and one of the Gulf carriers – i.e., airlines in the region whose business models largely consist of flying mid- and long-haul routes using wide-body aircraft with a considerable number of passengers transiting rather than having the region as their departure point or final destination. The airport is renamed after Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the UAE. SeeUnited Arab Emirates#Get infor visa requirements.
