About Yenagoa
Yenogoa derives its name from acronym of three of its main local government areas – Brass (BALGA), Yenagoa (YELGA) and Sagbama (SALGA). The first major settlers are the Ijaw people. Yenogoa is surrounded by swamps and mangrove and tropical rain forests and mostly accessible by water. Yenagoa experiences unpleasant weather all year round, with the wet season being cold, breezy and cloudy and the dry season being hot and also cloudy.
