About Xixia Wangling National Park

Nine tombs ofWestern Xiakings and more than 140 companion tombs with the remains of major imperial family members and aristocrats are laid out according to the contours of the terrain in an area of 50 km² on the eastern side of Helan Shan. Each tomb was an independent architectural complex more than 100,000 m² in area, complete with turrets, archways, stele pavilions, outer walls, inner cities, memorial halls, pagoda-shaped altars, and divine walls. It is one of the largest and best protected imperial cemeteries in China. Western Xiakingdom, 1038 to 1227 CE.
