Western Illinois is generally defined as the area west of I-39, south of I-80 and north of Metro-East. Much of the land in the region is dedicated to agriculture but there are several small towns that dot the region. Culturally, the area is similar to neighboringCentral IllinoisandSoutheast Iowa. The people are friendly but do not particularly care for Chicago.
