About Tomaree National Park
This area became a national park in 1984 with two prominent locations in the park are Point Stephens Light, a lighthouse built in 1862 and the Tomaree Head Fortifications, World War II gun emplacements on Tomaree Head which were built in 1941. The landscape is a little hilly with lots of sand dunes, but mostly coastal. The park is mostly cool in winter and warm in summer, but it is never hot or cold.
