About Tindi
Tindi is one of the highest settlements in Dagestan and surrounded by some of the tallest mountains and largest glaciers in the Caucasus. It is a very picturesque village with a history dating back centuries, historians still debate how long exactly humans have lived on these mountain slopes. The village is at the foot of the Adallo-Shukhgel-meer mountain (in theTindilanguage “Kabala deesa”), on the right bank of the Kila river. The Bogossa mountain range is one of the least accessible in the Caucasus. Glaciers and permanent snow cover several km².
