—Neil Just like many other Christopher Nolan films,Tenethas a convoluted timeline. The main premise is that people and objects can go through a "turnstile" and invert, to move backwards in time. The Protagonist, whose name is never revealed to the audience, is an American intelligence operator who is recruited to an organization named Tenet, purposed to prevent a disaster which would end the known timeline. His main adversary is Sator, who grew up in theSoviet Unionand made a fortune as he encounters the inversion technology under the disguise of the remains of Soviet nuclear technology.
