About Skadar Lake National Park
Lake Skadar is a vast freshwater lake, two thirds of which is in Montenegro and the remainder in Albania. It is surrounded by dramatic karst mountains and hosts a thrilling array of wildlife with more than 260 species of birds, traditional fishing villages, islet monasteries and pristine beaches. It has been a protected National Park since 1983 and was added, in 1996, to the World's List of Wetlands of International Importance by the Ramsar Convention. The Lake is split in two parts, by the bridge at Vranjina which connect the adriatic with Podgorica: The southern part, which is the open Lake with some smallest island and not much variation. And the western part, which is the beautiful and touristically interesting part which contaons the source of the Lake Skadar at beautiful Rijeka Crnoj
