About Sanjiang
Sanjiang meansthree rivers, named after the three rivers in the county, Rong River, Xun River and Miao River. Located in the north Guangxi, it is a juncture of Guangxi, Hunan and Guizhou Provinces. It has a common boundary with Longsheng, Guilin. It was built in the Song Dynasty (about 1105 AC) and became Dong Autonomous County of Guangxi in 1955. The autonomous region, covering an area of 2,454 square kilometers, mainly consisting of the Dong ethnic tribe, which makes up more than 54% of the county's total population. It is the capital of a Dong Autonomous Prefecture with the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The main reason to come to this dusty concrete town is to visit the amazing and peacefulChengyang, which is about half an hour from here by bus.
