About Sangju
It is on the southeast slope of the Sobaek Mountains, the mainstream of the Nakdong River penetrates the eastern region and is rich in mountains, water, and natural resources. Sangju City is a city in western Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. It borders Gumi-si and Uiseong-gun to the east, Boeun-gun, Okcheon-gun, Yeongdong-gun, and Goesan-gun in Chungcheongbuk-do to the west, Gimcheon-si to the south, and Mungyeong-si and Yecheon-gun to the north. In the early Joseon Dynasty, it served as the head of Gyeongsang-do as the location of Gyeongsanggamyeong, and it is a historic city that became the etymology of Gyeongsang-do along with Gyeongju-si.
