About San Bernardino (Paraguay)
San Bernardino is Paraguay's liveliestciudad veraniega(Summerresorttown), a crowded destination during the summer months of January and February. It's the meeting point for the young and beautiful and the place to see and be seen especially on weekends. Originally settled by German immigrants, you can still see some houses remaining from the early settlers at the beginning of the 20th century. Lake Ypacarai used to be known as the "blue lake", but it's no longer recommended for swimming due to the water pollution. However, sporting boats and jet skis filled the lake with people doingwater sportsduring the December-February high season.
