Pisa (province) Travel Guide — Things to Do, Food & Hotels
province of Italy
About Pisa (province)
The northern area of the province is crossed by the modest anti-Apennine mountain range of Monte Pisano, adjacent to the extreme offshoot of the Apuan Alps, which separates the province of Pisa from that of Lucca. The outlet to the sea, the Pisan coast, extends for about 15 km. The Pisa area is flat, but, going down a few kilometres to the south, in the southern part of the province, you find yourself immersed in the most classic of Tuscan landscapes, made up of hills, woods and ancient villages.
