About Nueva Vizcaya
The province's name derives from the province ofVizcaya(Biscay) in Spain'sBasque Country. During the early Spanish colonial era, Nueva Vizcaya used to be a part of a largerCagayanprovince, along withIsabela— named after Queen Isabella II of Spain.
