About Northwest Territories
Although the name is plural, NWT is a single sub-national jurisdiction within Canada. About 37% of its 42,000 residents (2016) are First Nations indigenous people, 10% are Inuit (formerly known as Eskimo), and 7% are Métis. SeeIndigenous cultures of North America.
