About Neochori
Neochori is one of the least visited villages in Pelion. Neither of the main roads going to the south Pelion and to the north Pelion pass through Neochori. A village square is situated in the centre of Neochori, adorned by the centuries-old plane trees and a roofed fountain dating from 1807. The village was built in an area overgrown with plane trees, pines, and chestnut trees. Ravines keep the climate of the village cool in the summer. Its houses overlooking both the Aegean Sea and the Pagasitiko Gulf. The village was built around the beginning of the 17th century by residents who mostly came from the Byzantine city of Lai, but also by residents of ancient settlements in the area.
