About Mino (Gifu)
The Mino area is renowned for its ceramics, known as Mino-yaki (美濃焼). Mino City is specifically known for its production of traditional Japanese paper, Mino-washi (美濃和紙), which have been a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage since 2014. An annual Japanese paper lantern festival has been held in Mino since 1994. The festival is in the fall, usually early- to mid-October.
