Lewis and Clark National Historical Park Travel Guide — Things to Do, Food & Hotels
USA national park located in Astoria, Oregon
About Lewis and Clark National Historical Park
The Lewis and Clark Expedition was an American expedition to cross the Louisiana Purchase to the Pacific coast soon after the purchase was made. The expedition lasted from 1803 to 1806, and overwintered at Fort Clatsop in 1805 before making the return journey to the East. Many of the sites are related to the journey of the expedition, but Fort Stevens and Fort Columbia exhibit the area's World War II history, and Cape Disappointment and Ecola State Parks are great showcases of the natural beauty of the coastal regions.
