About Kozushima
The island is administered by Tōkyō and is about 30km (19mi) northwest of the Miyake-jima and 14km (8.7mi) southwest of the Nii-jima. Kōzushima is administratively part of Kōzushima Village under Ōshima Subprefecture of Tokyo Metropolis. As of 2017, the island's population was 1,952. The island was recognized as a Dark Sky Island by Dark Sky (formerly International Dark Sky Association) in 2020.
