About Jodhpur
The wordjodhpurs(riding breeches, cut at the hips but tight fitting from knee to ankle, usually worn while riding horses or playing polo) owes its etymology to this city. Jodhpur is a historic city and the origin dates to the year 1459 AD when it was founded by Rao Jodha, the Rajput chieftan of the Rathores.
