Jiri has no outstanding attractions, and as the bus fromKathmanduusually arrives in the early evening and most trekkers set out for the first day of their trek just after sun rise, many people spend their time here. Jiri is an amazing place to visit. As it is about a five-day trek toNamche Bazaar, which many consider as the gateway to theEverest Region, only a small percentage of trekkers heading toEverest Base Campbegin their journey here, with most preferring to fly toLukla, a two-day walk to Namche.
