Greater Toronto consists of the City of Toronto and four surrounding regional municipalities: Durham, Halton, Peel, and York; which in total contain 25 urban, suburban and rural municipalities. The region generates about a fifth of Canada's GDP and is home to 40% of Canada's business headquarters.
