About Gladstone (Michigan)
Gladstone (nicknamed "Happy Rock") is a small community on Lake Michigan's Little Bay de Noc. The settlement was founded in 1877 as Minnewasca, but its name was changed to honor British politician William Ewart Gladstone. The area is well known for its walleye fishing, and tournaments have been organized by major sports fishing authorities in the community.
