This small island hit the news headlines in January 2012 when theCosta Concordiastruck an underwater rock just off the island's shore and then capsized. 32 people lost their lives. For a few years after the disaster, the wreckage was a local attraction and money spinner. Since then however, the remains of the ship have been salvaged and removed from the island, much to the dismay of the residents.
