A small tribe inhabited the oasis, the ruins of their settlement are scattered between the palms at the north-western shore of the lake, the exact dates of original occupation of the village is unknown. There are Bedouins who say the site has been occupied for many hundreds of years. Hot! The highs are high but be aware, the nights can be cold.
