Entre Rios Travel Guide — Things to Do, Food & Hotels
province of Argentina
About Entre Rios
The hilly landscape of Entre Ríos is one of Argentina's "granaries". Various types of grain are grown and cattle are raised. The towns along the rivers are popular amongst travellers. The area is known for carnival, which is similar to Brazil's and is dominated by the murgas, drummers who play African-influenced rhythms to which scantily clad dancers dance. The capital of the carnival is Gualeguaychú, but the carnivals in the other cities are often more attractive because of their originality. The climate is subtropical to warm temperate with very warm summers (average 32°C in Paraná) and mild winters (average 17°C). Summer is slightly wetter than winter. Temperature-wise, you should be able to swim in the rivers from November to the end of April.
