About Dezful
Dezful is located in the foothills of the Middle Zagros and its history dates back to the Sassanid era, but before the Sassanids it was also inhabited and was considered part of the lands of the Elamite and Achaemenid empires. Dezful has a Mediterranean climate in winter and a hot and dry climate in summer. The Great Dez River passes through the center of Dezful; It is the second largest river in the country and the Dez Dam was built on it in the late 1940s. This river originates from the heights of Lorestan province and the cities of Boroujerd, Arak, Aligudarz and Azna.
