Dasol is a sleepy township tucked away on the coastal plains of Pangasinan, which are is largely vested in salt harvesting through the channeling of seawater into ponds where it is evaporated. The municipality came about when it was created out of another in 1911. It has a somewhat interesting history, though, given that both American and Japanese vessels were sunk offshore during World War II.
