Dangjin is located along the west coast of South Korea. According to the Korean Studies Institute - Electronic Exhibition of Local Culture, Dangjin is located on the northwest coast of South Chungcheong, and has an incremental climate characteristic between the northern and southern parts of the Korean Peninsula, and is more affected by the sea than in the central inland region.
