Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park consists of three areas - the Centre Block and West Block in Saskatchewan, and the Alberta Block.Centre Blockis a58km(22sqmi)protected area which has fully developed year-round tourist facilities and is30km (19mi)south of Maple Creek on Highway 21. TheWest Blockwilderness area offers rustic camping and provides access to Fort Walsh National Historic Site adjacent to the park boundary. The West Block is45km (28mi)southwest of Maple Creek on Highway 271. TheAlberta Blockcontains the tourist destination of Elkwater, a community with campground facilities on the southern shore of Elkwater Lake; the townsite is mainly made up of summer cabins.
