About Changhua
The county of Changhua is home to the Babuza Aboriginal people. Historically, Changhua city was a base for immigrants from China and used as a staging post in various campaigns against the indigineous inhabitants. To support this, a fortress was built out of bamboo which gained the city the nickname "Bamboo Town". The city has an area of approximately65km(25sqmi)km and a population of around 226,744 (as of January 2023).
