About Bothies
Bothies are simple shelters which can be stayed in for free, subject to observing a few conditions. They are some distance from other facilities and are often5mi (8.0km)from a public road. Many bothies are maintained by the Mountain Bothies Association (MBA), a charity which organises volunteers to do basic maintenance to the bothy structure with the permission of the owner of the bothy.
