Blanc-Sablon is a municipality of the "Basse-Côte-Nord" located on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence near the entrance to the Strait of Belle Isle. It is bordered byLabradorto the east. With a population of over 1100 inhabitants, it is the most populous municipality in the regional county municipality of Golfe-du-Saint-Laurent.
