About Anyigba
Anyigba is primarily populated by the Igala tribe. Igala is the main language spoken here, although you will also hear Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Egbira and others. Islam is the predominant religion of the people of Anyigba, but traditional African religions and Christianity are also practised here. In 2012, it was home to 190,000 people. In the colonial era, it was known as "Ayangba" or "Ayamgba". The wet season lasts from April to October with rainfall peaking in September. The dry season from November to March is characterized by the northeast tradewind, known as the Harmattan.
