About Akhty
Akhty in the very south of the Republic of Dagestan, in the valley of the Samur River, at the confluence of the Akhtychay River. It is set in a valley surrounded by gray rocky treeless mountains, between the mountain peaks. The Samur River flows along the northern part of Akhta. The Akhtychay River divides Akhty in half, flowing from south to north, and flows into Samur within the village. The old quarters of Akhty are located on the slopes of Mount Kelezkhev, and on the opposite side of the Akhtychay River. The later part of the village is in the flat part, between the ridges, in the Samur valley. Two horticultural and residential zones stretch 2-3 km up the banks of the Akhtychay.
